Hello and welcome to my thesis project website! My name is Asma, and I will graduate this year 2023 SENIOR!! I have been studying graphic designer in Qatar for several years. For my Bachelor of Fine Arts (BFA) thesis project, I explored the concept of the self and its various layers through the medium of block printing. The self is a complex and multifaceted concept that encompasses different aspects of our being, including the physical, emotional, mental, and spiritual. I wanted to create a tangible representation of these layers that individuals can engage with to deepen their understanding of themselves.

My journey to choosing the topic of the self for my thesis project was a long and challenging one. Over the years, I have witnessed many people, including myself, struggling with self-discovery and identity. This sparked my interest in exploring the concept of the self and the many layers that make up our sense of identity. Through my research, I discovered that the idea of the self is a complex and multifaceted concept that has been explored by philosophers and psychologists for centuries. This realization led me to delve deeper into the topic and ultimately choose it for my thesis project.

Using building blocks as my medium, I created a main block where each face represents a different layer of the self, and smaller blocks that individuals can use to explore their self-expression. The project aims to promote self-awareness and self-discovery by engaging in the process of building and playing with the blocks. Through reflection on the layers of the self and their unique role in shaping our identities, individuals can gain a greater sense of self-acceptance and appreciation.
